Overview:

The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) is a five-member commission appointed by the Governor. The FGCC is charged with investigating and enforcing Florida pari-mutuel and gaming statutes and rules.

The FGCC is searching for a Systems Programming Consultant(Applications Administrator) to support existing applications as well as the development, deployment and support for applications used by FGCC. This position will participate in the efforts to replace existing legacy applications and the implementation of solutions. This position reports to the Enterprise and Strategic Applications Manager.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with FGCC leadership to support and implement the applications needed to implement the vision and strategy. Participate in change control, organizational change management and communications for application changes. Develop business relationships to make sure IT objectives align and support business objectives.

  • In-house Development - Full lifecycle application development or deployment efforts, including testing.

  • COTS/SaaS - Manage the setup, configuration, and ongoing administration of SaaS applications to meet business requirements. Customize/Configure application settings, user permissions, and access controls according to organizational needs. Implement integrations between SaaS applications and other systems as required.

  • Monitor the performance, availability, and security of applications, promptly addressing any issues or anomalies.

  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to applications, collaborating with other IT teams or vendors as needed.

  • Implement strategies to enhance application responsiveness and scalability.

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including applying patches, updates, and upgrades to ensure the stability and security of applications.

  • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard sensitive data within SaaS applications.

  • Regularly review access controls, user privileges, and authentication mechanisms to mitigate security risks.

  • Maintain accurate documentation related to application configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues related to FGCC applications.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to users, assisting with application usage, troubleshooting, and training as necessary.

  • Develop user documentation, training materials, and knowledge based articles to facilitate user adoption and proficiency.

  • Conduct training sessions to educate employees on SaaS application functionalities and best practices.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Four years (4) of experience in the duties and responsibilities described above. An associate's degree can substitute for two (2) years of direct experience.

  • Sufficient experience in the duties and responsibilities described above can be considered to satisfy any of the minimum requirements.

  • Experience in application administration including deployment, configuration, and support.

  • Experience with cloud-based applications and services.

  • Quality Assurance of services provided and have a continuous improvement plan.
