Position: Substitute Food Service Worker Alabama School for the Blind, Alabama School for the Deaf Helen Keller School, E.H. Gentry, Alabama Industries for the Blind

Work Schedule - as needed not to exceed 29 hours a week

Position Requirements:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be physically able to perform job
  • Must follow all AIDB policies and procedures and state and federal laws

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs duties in the absence of full time AIDB staff as required for position including, but not limited to the following:

Food Service Worker:

  • Responsible for preparation, cooking and serving of meals to students, staff and guests.
  • Wash pots and pans as required and keep work area clean.
  • Maintain cleanliness of cooler, freezer, stoves, fryers and other equipment involved in food preparation and serving.
  • Responsible for general clean-up in kitchen, serving line, dining room and other facilities where food may be served. Responsibilities include mopping and sweeping.
  • Operate dish washer, wash pots and pans, clean food service equipment and take trash to dumpster.
  • May assist cook in preparation of certain food items, including salad bar.
  • Assist in the serving of food to students, staff and guests.
  • Fill food requisitions and put up stock.
  • Other duties as assigned

PAYROLL: $10.00 hourly rate
