Senior Principal Software Engineer

State-of-the-art products demand state-of-the-art firmware, and that’s the role of our Firmware Engineering team. We lead and deliver the analysis, design, programming, debugging, troubleshooting or modification of software for firmware applications. Our team oversees programming activities involving analog and digital hardware as well as software operating systems. We also influence product development at all stages. In short, we use the latest technology to modify existing solutions, in addition to developing innovative new software and firmware solutions.

What you’ll achieve

Responsible for Software management for assigned projects. Participates in the preparation, review, and analysis of Software requirements and specifications. Participates in the creation of design, functional, technical, and/or user documentation, as needed.

You will:

• Be familiar with NXP remote manageability feature through AI and lead the effort on dock Firmware update remotely through cloud server.

• Take part in the creation of Software/Firmware design, functional, technical, and/or user documentation, as needed.

• Leads ODM, 3rd party vendors, and internal extension teams to support issue troubleshooting for possible software/firmware solutions exploring.

• Collaborate with other functional teams including Electronic Engineering, BIOS, Validation team and Dell internal software/Firmware teams to get align project strategies, issues and status.

• Accurately log project schedules, defects, and other data into the appropriate databases as well as communicate with other teams well and always provide responses or follow-ups immediately.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field

• 13+ years of software development experience

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Desirable Requirements

• Has experience for Dock products.

• Be familiar with NXP Remote Manageability.
