Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION/OBJECTIVE

Be responsible for brand marketing activities and developing business for Oncology. Maximize business opportunities for AbbVie Oncology portfolio, including successfully launch new products. Be responsible for meeting sales and margin goals and improving patient care while effectively communicating approved value proposition to key stakeholders. Provide leadership through direction, skill development, disease and product knowledge, industry knowledge, competitive knowledge, and company knowledge. Lead brand team to effectively anticipate trends and needs, adapt organization and execute brand plans and vision. Set goals, achieves and monitors progress. Execute global marketing strategies and messages with the appropriate medical, regulatory, legal and OEC approval. Utilize both written and verbal communication skills to provide clear direction on brand vision and strategies to sales team and other field representative from commercial organization. Prepare Brand Strategic Plan and financial forecasts to upper management. Maintain fiscal responsibility and complete each year under expense plan. Interact continuously with stakeholders on their needs and insights.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and manage the strategic planning process, provide resources to support the implementation and execution process, and drive financial processes across all brands placing the patient into the center of all efforts and operating within AbbVie business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

• Hold accountability and responsibility for allocated Brand P&L and financial planning (Financial Plan, Focus/Update, LRP)

• Drive development of Brand strategy within Brand planning process in line with responsibilities allocated within the Brand Team

• Maximize brand’s sales and margin revenue, through the effective management and execution of Brand activities as per Brand Plan and through effective leadership, contribution and participation in Brand Team activities

• Set future direction for existing and new products and business opportunities

• Successfully launch new products

• Support product market expansion through innovative commercial programs. Develops view on Brand issues and competitive positioning, customer segments and their needs, and market development

• Develop & effectively execute Brand/commercial strategies with specific timelines, budgets and stakeholder responsibilities, aligned with Brand planning process and Brand Team direction

• Responsible, as project owner, of development brand promotional material and internal approval process.

• Translate strategy to implementation into tactics; communicate clearly and allocate responsibilities to cross functional team members and in-field team (e.g. product messaging by physician segment)

• Monitor Key Performance Indicator results and feedback and propose strategic planning/tactics adjustment

• Maintain and develop in-depth customer insight to anticipate stakeholder needs.

• Exhibit the effective personal use of AbbVie leadership competences and manage business with integrity and in accordance with regulations, AbbVie’s Code of Business Conduct and corporate policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with health care related background required.

• Oncology TA experience and MBA is a plus.

• At least five years experiences in Marketing, Sales and/or Commercial Area background and experience in pharmaceutical industry.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including effective presentation skills.

• Must have ability to manage multiple projects/products/indications simultaneously.

• Must have effective financial, analytical and decision making skills.

• Must possess ability to be a fast learner, be creative, flexible with good negotiation skills and ability to effectively work in teams.

• Knowledge of regulations, compliance and legal standards impacting brand management.

• Knowledge of and a tradition of success in utilizing selling skills, high-level negotiating skills, and leadership competencies in a commercial environment.

• Proven track record of organizational savvy; organizational agility; and effectiveness at working with in a matrix organization (i.e. Brand teams)

• Good skills in MS applications (Excel, word, outlook, PowerPoint).
