Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day problem solving support to production, development and research operations.

  • Trains operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes.

  • Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps

  • Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects.

  • Trouble shoots material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective action.

  • Implements and documents material, process and/or equipment changes.

  • Uses simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem

  • Solving and process improvement; Uses more sophisticated statistical tools and DOE techniques in problem solving and process/product improvement.

  • Assure quality and repeatability of processes and products.

  • Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation and training.

  • Assures safety of operators and equipment and Complies with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Executes cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives"

Required skills

  • Project Skills DMAIC with process data collection and controls.

  • Familiar with Process design, selection, purchase, start-up, and debug.

  • Good communication, coordination, and follow-up ability.

  • Good English proficiency in writing, listening and speaking and TOEIC 550 is a plus

Education and Experience

  • BS above (include) degree and major in engineering (prefer Mechanical or Material engineering)

  • 2 years above in relative job experience
