Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Tax Compliance Specialist (ANZ) to be based in Manila, Philippines.

This Tax Compliance Specialist contributes mainly to performing periodic, annual, and ad hoc tax activities in accordance with the tax compliance of various countries, such as Australia and New Zealand, generally accepted accounting principles, finance policies, and internal controls. The role performs analytical processes under the direct supervision of AU onshore stakeholders and collaborates with various departments in completing the work assigned.

Australia and New Zealand Tax

  • Prepares assigned quarterly tax effect accounting entries and statutory tax notes.

  • Process and prepare lodgment of corporate tax returns, payroll tax obligations, and partnership tax returns.

  • Managing the GST position, including the preparation and lodgement of the business activity statements (BAS) and the arrangement of GST payments.

  • Prepare a fringe benefits tax (FBT) return, including an analysis of tax-sensitive accounts and the determination of appropriate tax treatment.

  • Support the manager in administering intercompany agreements and withholding tax positions.

  • Maintain a tax-fixed asset register.

Others

  • Assists during tax audits through obtaining invoices and supporting information from the system.

  • Completes research to support tax issues and new projects; escalates findings to the tax manager

  • Provide regular task updates with local and onshore managers through weekly meetings.

  • Escalates and analyzes identified process issues and concerns to the Manila Tax Manager for timely resolution.

  • Maintain current processes and incorporate documentation updates as required; work with the onshore manager in establishing tax compliance processes.

  • Collaborates with the onshore manager in establishing the tax compliance process; supports selected simple process improvement initiatives to streamline processes.

  • Perform simple but varied tasks in compliance with service level agreements, processes, policies, and procedures.
