Boeing Brazil is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer , with knowledge of Preliminary Design, reporting to the Structures Manager , working in São José dos Campos office.

Senior Structural Design Engineer will join Boeing Structures team to develop innovative solutions for future commercial programs.

Position Responsibilities:

• Leads the identification, architecture, development, and implementation of Structural conceptual designs.

• Perform Structural Design Benchmark studies for new solutions.

• Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort.

• Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet defined requirements.

• Develops, maintains, and modifies structural and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

• Occasional travel may be required in support of the program and customer.

The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Must be legally able to work in Brazil

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctor from an accredited course of study in engineering, with degrees in Aeronautical, Civil, Mechanical

• Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA). Applicable to Brazilian, recent engineering graduates within 6 months and foreign engineers when the employer is willing visa sponsor

• Must have advanced/fluent proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in the English language

• Relevant Experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)

• Relevant Experience with aerospace structures preliminary design

• Relevant experience with structural design principles for aircraft

• Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process

• Experience with Material selection criteria

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

• Experience validating or verifying structural models

• Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment

• Experience with structural analysis

• Experience with analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Experience with design and analysis of metallic and/or composite materials

• Experience providing product definitions and technical support in collaborative environment to groups, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle

• Positive & proactive mindset, highly motivated team member willing to manage multiple assignments and work with a sense of urgency

• Proactive collaboration with customer, build positive relationships

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
