Boeing Brazil is seeking Senior Propulsion System Electrical Engineer , reporting to the Propulsion Engineering Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos, Brazil office.

The Senior Propulsion System Electrical Engineer will join Boeing Commercial Aircraft team who provide support to all Boeing commercial models both in development and in airline service. These models include programs such as the 737MAX, 747-8, 767, 777, 787, the 777-9 family of airplanes, or all-new airplane(s) that our product development organization studies.

The engineers will work on the Propulsion System Design and Certification for Thrust Reverser, Thrust Reverser Actuation System, Engine Controls, Fuels, Fuel Quantity Indication System, Engine Installation and other System Integration activities related to electrical aspects, including electromagnetic effects.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead Propulsion Engineering teams supporting architecture development, requirements definition, verification and validation.

  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements

  • Works with customers and regulatory agencies to develop certification standards and define processes that will ensure fuel system requirements are met

  • Reviews and approves FHA, SSA reports, Test Proposals, Test Results, Certifications Plans, and Issue Papers with independency.

  • Work assignments, collaborate with teammates, and receive tasking from lead managers.

  • Leverage their aircraft, system, work with low or without supervision, provide training and mentorship for team members within the Propulsion and Fuel System team.

  • Coordinate technical aspects with other senior, experienced and principal engineers from within the Propulsion System and with other cross-functional areas.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil

  • Must have a degree in Engineering

  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA). Applicable to Brazilian, recent engineering graduates within 6 months and foreign engineers when the employer is willing visa sponsor

  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language

  • In depth experience in electrical propulsion

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • In depth experience in all fuel system areas and experience in other propulsion system areas

  • Occasional travel may be required in support of the program and customer

  • In depth experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment

  • In depth experience in Fuel System Integration and Certification

  • In depth experience with 14 CFR 25.981 certifications: fuel tank explosion prevention.

  • In depth experience with Electrostatic analysis and activities
