Howmet Aerospace Analyst, Financial Accounting, GL in Szekesfehervar, Hungary

Howmet is currently in search of an Analyst, Financial Accounting, GL supporting our Financial Shared Services in Székesfehérvár.

Financial Accounting Center (FAS) provides comprehensive accounting services for all Locations across regions. This position is responsible for meeting the requirements of the accuracy and high competency of general ledger/sub ledger accounting and account reconciliation; strictly following the rules of Company Financial Management Handbook and SLA Agreement with Shared Services customers, following the Process Descriptions and SOPs agreed with the regions.

The responsibility includes application of company’s accounting modules. To maintain financial records of the locations in ERP system accurately and in a manner reflecting realities by proper bookkeeping of the received data. Working across remote locations: develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with and leverage learning between regions. Ensuring compliance with accounting and processes related guidelines and adhering to all established procedures.

Key activities:

  • Performs the general accounting functions and month end closing process for operating locations.

  • Uses company accounting, control and reporting systems (Oracle, Hyperion, RST, ASP, etc.)

  • Applies user manuals, SOP-s, procedures issued and used by SS in the daily work and during the month end closing

  • Process transactions initiated by Locations, performs associated controls and reconciliations on daily basis

  • Conducts pre / post-closing / reconciliation related conference calls with locations as required

  • Owns the monthly closing check-list process: monitors tasks throughout the month, reviews and updates the list timely. Escalates any error, issue, deficiency to the Supervisor/Manager.

  • Solves problems to root cause to prevent recurrence.

  • Provides reports, data analysis, explanations as per requests in timely manner

  • Performs any occasional and regular task in relation to the accounting

  • Settlements of the problems with locations, asks for help if problem solving is beyond him/her

  • Maintains regular contact with customers of the FSS

  • Performs transactions related to business acquisition and/or divestiture.

  • Ensures accounting is performed according to the department's defined standards and the work is completed by defined deadlines. Any issues with the work or schedule are escalated to the Supervisor/Manager in a prompt manner.

  • Ensures that account reconciliations are completed as per company policy.

    Education, experience and skills:

    Basic:

  • Secondary school certificate, preferably specialized at finance and/or accounting/economics

  • English and Hungarian language skill

  • MS Office products, computer skills (spreadsheet / data query and manipulation)

  • Good problem solving and communication ability

  • Accuracy and correctness

  • Good analytical and communication skill, including both face to face and remote interaction

    Preferred:

  • Degree in finance or accounting obtained at a college or university

  • Minimum 2 years practice in the field of finance/accounting or shared services environment.

  • ERP system knowledge

  • Good problem solving and communication ability
