Eaton Corporation Screw Machine Operator - 2nd Shift in Syracuse, New York

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Screw Machine Operator - 2nd Shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.07 per hour. The core hours are 2:30pm-10:30pm.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform various threading, grooving, chamfering, turning, tapping, reaming, serrating, boring, facing, drilling and similar machining operations on all departmental conventional machines.

  • Make adjustments, change, reset tooling to maintain specified dimensions as required.

  • Load bar stock to insure the continuous operation of equipment.

  • Check work with various measuring instruments and gages (verniers, micrometers, scale, etc.).

  • Maintain close tolerances and work to drawings and layouts.

  • Detect faulty operation or materials and report to supervision.

  • Maintain equipment, machines, work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition; sweep and mop as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use shop arithmetic. Ability to read ordinary drawings or job layouts.

  • Ability to use micrometers, protractors, depth, and fixed gauges. Knowledge of tools, machining methods, and cutting quality of various metals.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
