SUNY Upstate Medical University Resuscitation Program Manager in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Resuscitation Program Manager is an RN who co-chairs the Resuscitation Program and Committee and leads the effort to improve adherence to evidence-based care of patients who suffer in-hospital cardiac arrest. This includes coordinating Resuscitation data of University Hospital, providing resuscitation education for nurses, extenders, and physicians, developing and implementing quality and research-based corrective action plans, and facilitating and fostering outreach aspects associated with maintaining best practices and promotion of clinical success. This RN demonstrates leadership abilities, problem-solving capabilities, clear and effective communication skills, and the ability to function independently in a complex healthcare environment. The manager demonstrates the ability to sustain effective relationships with Nursing and other interdisciplinary colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and NYS RN license and registration, or eligible required. 3-5 years of adult critical care nursing experience, ACLS certification, Get With the Guidelines-Resuscitation Abstractor certification required. Experience caring for and assessing patients who suffer acute medical emergencies, including rapid response activations, intubation, and cardiac arrest. CPR-BLS is required by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Specialty nursing certification relating to the patient population (CCRN) and experience in program planning and management are preferred. Computer expertise in Microsoft Word Excel and/or similar databases preferred.
