Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Responsible for the application of radioactivity and x-rays to patients for diagnostic or therapeutic reasons, including positioning of patients, operation of equipment, x-ray film development; maintains film files and prepares reports; performs minor repairs to equipment as appropriate. Operates radiology equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-rays as directed by a provider. Under the supervision of a Radiologist, utilizes knowledge and skills to produce quality mammographic images for screening mammogram patients.

Minimum Qualifications

Technical Certificate in Radiology Technology, with specialized Mammography training and Certification. NY State License to work as a Radiology Technologist. 1-3 years of experience required. Mammography experience preferred. Experience with Mammography Quality and Inspection Programs.

Preferred Qualifications

RT with 2-3 years experience , Certified Mammographer with 2-3 years experience.

Physical Demands

Ambulatory – 95%

Sedentary- 5%

Subject to stress and fatigue.

Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination when working with patients and equipment.

Subject to repeated bending, squatting and stooping.

Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
