SUNY Upstate Medical University Postdoctoral Associate in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Post-Doctoral Associate will assist the Center for Research & Evaluation with statistical and research methods consultations with Upstate, as well as with external clients should the need arise. The Post-Doctoral Associate should be willing to work as a consulting methodologist, and receive additional training and feedback in data analysis, consultation, and the dissemination of results.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree in a related area (e.g., quantitative social sciences, biostatistics, public health, biomedical sciences with statistical training); experience with data management and preparation.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with at least one major statistical software package (SPSS, SAS, Stata or R), and have experience using the following techniques: basic descriptive statistics, t-tests, correlations, ANOVA, Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Chi-squared analyses of contingency tables, and other statistical approaches.

  • Experience in biomedical publishing and presenting, and should have at least one external conference presentation or peer-reviewed publication on their CV. Additionally, the successful candidate will have some experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
