Job Summary:

The incumbent will perform the following duties in Dr. Zhao lab

Have basic skills in cerebral surgery for small animals such as experience in making a mouse model of traumatic brain injury and a skull window for live brain imaging in mice, preform neurobehavioral testing such as water maze, Y maze, and novel object recognition in mice, preform irradiation, bone marrow isolation, bone marrow transplantation, blood collection, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry, inject cells or drugs intravenously or intracerebrally , isolate and culture neurons, bone marrow stem cells, and monocytes/microglial cells, have experience in tissue gene expression and protein quantification, cell adhesion and cell-cell interaction, identify cell signal pathway, and quantify gene expression and protein production, have experience in gene knock in and knock down, perform live cell imaging, 2-photon live brain imaging, and confocal imaging, isolate and identify microvesicles and exosomes, examine neurite outgrowth, synaptic formation and maturation, cell adhesion and migration, and cell-cell interaction, analyze research data and write research manuscripts, have good communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

A PhD degree in Neuroscience or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in neurodegenerative diseases/neurological disorders, stem cell biology, and molecular biology with related publications.
