SUNY Upstate Medical University Nursing Station Clerk 1/Trainee (NSC) in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner, greet patients upon arrival for their examinations. Assist in the coordination of inpatient radiology examinations. Ensure the completion and accuracy of required documentation for radiology appointments. Ability to work in Epic, HealthEConnections, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and other Upstate delivered applications.

Other tasks include, but are not limited to, scheduling and rescheduling patients for inpatient and outpatient radiology appointments, interaction with referring provider offices, completing patient reminder phone calls. Reviewing future schedules to ensure accuracy and the presence of a legal order. Interacting with referring physician's offices to ensure proper examination scheduling and preparation. Will cross-train to provide coverage to several Radiology Outpatient locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program, Effective April 5th, 2023. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Nursing Station Clerk 1, SG07 title.

For consideration for this title, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

One year full-time clerical, secretarial or patient care experience in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Work Days:

Schedule based on a 37.5 hour work week. Monday-Friday, days. Overtime may be required based on operational need.
