SUNY Upstate Medical University Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-GYN/Oncology in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider will collaborate with the Oncology Physicians to provide care for GYN Oncology Patients at the Upstate Cancer Center. The Advanced Practice Provider will provide comprehensive health assessments and develop plans of care for the patients to include medical health histories, physical examinations, develop plans based on clinical diagnoses and problems, analyzing diagnostic testing and laboratory results and ordering interventions based on clinical assessments. Incumbent will oversee infusion for GYN Oncology as well as consult with physician for abnormal findings as appropriate and assist in planning, ordering care and treatment for patients requiring triage. Incumbent will actively participate in quality improvements working within teams and committees.

An Advanced Practice Provider is a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team who demonstrates professionalism and leadership within the institution, who exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire).

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in specialty area preferred.
