Hillside Family of Agencies Mental Health Clinician I (LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, LCAT) in Syracuse, New York

We have an amazing opportunity for a Clinician I at our Syracuse, NY location. This position is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a new Community Based Program, the Family Opportunity Center at Hillside.

Full time position - 40 hours’ week Monday to Friday.

As a Hillside Clinician, you will be responsible for the assessment and delivery of quality mental health care to the youth and families that we serve. You will work on a team, assessing a young person and their family's needs, while developing, evaluating and modifying the individual service plan in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team in partnership with the young person and their family.

Position includes completing assessments, prevention, screening and short-term family/individual therapy to address barriers to mental health by a Clinician trained in Mental Health First Aid. The Clinician will be a trained practitioner of family psychotherapy, and will have the capacity to perform screening, assessment, family therapy sessions and make referrals to partners for substance use disorder services or ongoing dyadic therapy/child and or parent psychotherapy. Referrals will also be made for longer term therapy, if needed or requested

The dedicated Clinician will be on site for the provision of in-house clinical support to expose parents to therapeutic interventions and engage them as they are, where they are and to provide concrete access to services for mental health needs and immediately begin to address the inherent stress and trauma of inter-generational poverty. One of the goals will be to educate families on trauma and its impact on social, emotional, spiritual, psychological and physical development. Education will also include elements of hope, healing and resilience building strategies. This position will require the Clinician to be available on site to meet and engage with families in-person. Afternoon some evening work will be required. This position offers a flexible work schedule and Clinical Supervision will be provided by an LCSW staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to diagnose and treat children/youth and families

  • Provide individual and group therapy, including structured and process groups, within a variety of settings, based on group/client needs and Clinician credentials

  • Depending on level of experience, provide clinical consultation and training to staff

  • Act as the primary contact for the service plan with the ability to expertly and succinctly communicate at all levels both verbally and in writing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work or clinically related field

  • Must be licensed eligible and have a limited permit upon hire if applicable based on clinical degree

  • Thorough knowledge of services provided, well developed advocacy skills, knowledge and understanding of payment processes for services

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency driving standards

  • Licensed of permit eligible upon hire

Consistent with state professional licensing laws, additional requirements may apply:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • Licensed Master Social Worker

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

  • Licensed Psychologist

  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor

  • Licensed Creative Arts Therapist

$51,480.00 Minimum Rate per year, $69,888.00 Maximum Rate per year, based on experience.
