Crouse Hospital Medical Gas Mechanic in Syracuse, New York

The Med Gas Mechanic is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs to the house-wide Medical Gas System. This includes all on campus and off campus medical gas systems.

Job Requirements:

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE

  • Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.

  • Must be certified in ASSE 6020 (Medical Gas Inspection) and 6040 (Systems Maintenance) upon date of initial employment. Certification must be maintained throughout employment as a Med Gas Mechanic.

  • Preferred:

  • None specified.

  • EXPERIENCE

  • Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a plumber with a mechanical background.

  • Minimum (5) years’ experience within a Hospital/Healthcare setting.

  • Working knowledge of NFPA 99.

  • Preferred:

  • SPECIAL SKILLS/EQUIPMENT

  • Working knowledge of computer skills and Microsoft Outlook, Building Management Systems, and blue print reading. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and various motors. Must have the ability to occasionally rotate shifts, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Hourly Rate Range

$19.89 - $37.60
