Crouse Hospital Medical Affairs Coordinator in Syracuse, New York

Responsible for all aspects of credentialing and recredentialing of all new physicians, Affiliate staff, & Allied Health Professional staff. Responsible for assisting in the implementation of the Crouse Hospital policies regarding provider credentialing/recredentialing to include analysis and processing of applications, verifying credentials, querying the NPDB, maintaining confidentiality, and to assist in training and supervising of new staff or volunteers in accordance to standards set forth by the NYSDOH & JCAHO. Complete all hospital staff reference requests from other facilities, including but not limited to, MCO's, insurance companies, etc. Assist in the verification of medical staff clinical privileges. Under the supervision of Director for Medical Affairs, the coordinator is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Department of Medical Affairs with respect to clinical departmental functions as outlined in the medical staff bylaws, hospital policies and bylaws, and applicable local, state and federal statutes.

Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and two years credentialing experience. A working knowledge of accreditation by the Joint Commission Accreditation Hospital Organization and the National Committee on Quality Assurance. 5 years experience and proficiency required in databases and in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access). Knowledge of HTML desirable. 2 years experience working with the credentialing software CACTUS-proficiency preferred. Professional Skills: Accurate typing (60 words per minute), with word processing proficiency. Professional appearance and projection of position. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Must be flexible with a strong ability to multi-task. Ability to establish goals and work well under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills. Focus on customer service. Previous administrative experience preferred.

Hourly Rate Range

$18.50 - $34.07/hour
