SUNY Upstate Medical University Magnet Program Manager in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Magnet Program Manager will report to the Associate Director of Nursing Practice Excellence. This leadership position will support nursing excellence in all area's nursing is practiced. Areas of responsibility will include supporting Magnet re-designation through organizational education of the Magnet program, coordination and facilitation of Magnet Focus Teams, resource for Shared Governance groups, and assists with all activities related to Magnet Program re-designation. This role will support nursing excellence through facilitation of quality improvement initiatives that include quality improvement activities. Identifies opportunities of improvement and assists nurses with the development and implementation of evidence-based improvement strategies. Actively participates in nursing excellence and interdisciplinary performance improvement councils and committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Licensed/Registered Nurse (or eligible) required. Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Nursing required. Minimum of four years nursing experience in an acute care setting and a minimum of two years progressive leadership required. Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, computer and presentation skills required. CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS) successfully completed by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge in ANCC Magnet Recognition Program preferred. Candidates with strong computer skills specific to Microsoft Suite and Excel preferred. National Board Certified specialty Certification strongly preferred.
