SUNY Upstate Medical University Federal Work Study- Student Info Desk in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Student Info Desk Attendant has general office responsibilities. Some of the required functions include: answering telephones; issuing equipment; checking IDs of patrons utilizing the recreation center; recording and tallying attendance statistics; selling tickets and trips; operating cash register and credit card machine; and other projects as assigned by any Office of Campus Activities professional staff members. This position is responsible for opening and closing the building interior. Including, but not limited to; locking & unlocking building interior, ensuring all patrons leave the rec facility upon closure, contacting University Police as needed, and securing the Info Desk. The student should have knowledge of the operations and services of the CAB. She or he must also demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, decision making skills, and able to effectively work with a diverse clientele.

Hours available include days, evenings, and weekend shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a current student enrolled at Upstate Medical University and approved for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office at Upstate.
