Crouse Hospital CT Technologist - Certified/Non-Certified in Syracuse, New York

Crouse Hospital is looking for a full time CT-Technologist to join our team!

Crouse Hospital has been a prominent healthcare institution in the Central New York community for decades. Our focus is to provide the best in patient care and community health. The CT Technologist will collaborate with other teammates to perform radiographic and specialized medical imaging modalities such as computed tomography.

CT Technologist responsibilities include:

  • Analyze assigned patient medical record to ensure proper technical factors such as kilo voltage, exposure time, image number and technical are used.

  • Apply prescribed ionizing radiation as needed for radiologic diagnosis including computed tomography, unenhanced, enhanced, CTA, etc.

  • Review images and records to ensure accuracy, quality and completeness for diagnostic purposes.

  • Accurately document results and promptly alert the Radiologist of any unacceptable variations.

  • Routinely complete medical imaging equipment quality control checks, document results according to existing department policy, and notify department leadership of any faulty equipment.

  • Coordinate radiation safety program for the assigned area of responsibility.

  • Assist other clinical staff with preparing hypodermic supplies and injection of contrast material

  • Ensure pre-exam preparations (gastroview, etc) are delivered in a timely fashion.

  • Transport medical specimens to the lab and proactively makes arrangement for the procurement of comparison exams, when necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Education and Experience

  • Must be a Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program

  • New York State Diagnostic Medical Radiography License required

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration required

  • AART Computerized Tomography Board Certification or 1 year of full time experience as a CT Technologist in lieu of certification.

  • Must be certified by AART Computerized Tomography Board within 1 year of hire if not already certified.

  • Must be certified with Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection as a Radiologic Technologist and to inject contrast media during radiologic procedures within 90 days of hire

Hourly Rate Range

Non-Certified: $31.00 - $54.63/hour

Certified: $31.50 - $55.59/hour
