SUNY Upstate Medical University Community Campus Materials Manager in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Community Campus Materials Manager will be responsible for management of CH Materials Management 24/7 operations including General Stores, Receiving, Equipment Services and Mail Room. Duties include staff scheduling, recruitment, training, performance reviews and personnel issues. Will provide weekend management coverage as needed. Performs quality monitoring in support of departmental metrics and ensures that shifts are proceeding in a spirit of continuous improvement. Conducts daily walk through of unit supply/equipment locations to ensure they are properly stocked, and organized. Ensures Critical Stations is kept up, and all carts and kits are complete and ready for issue. Monitors staff interaction with nursing staff to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Supervises the maintenance of the distribution pick area, ensuring it is well stocked, and well organized.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Management or related field and a minimum of two years relevant experience in equipment distribution and/or inventory management or related to include supervisory experience (preferably in a hospital or healthcare related environment) or Associate's degree in Management or related field and four years relevant experience in equipment distribution and/or inventory management or related to include supervisory experience (preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment), plus strong organizational, written/oral communication, interpersonal, and computer skills required. Ability to multitask, stand and walk for long periods of time and lift 35# to shoulder height required.
