SUNY Upstate Medical University Clinical Engineering Intern in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Clinical Equipment Lifecycle Management (CELM) Student Assistant reports to the Director of Clinical Equipment Life Cycle Management and will work closely with the clinical engineering departments at Upstate. Job duties include evaluating medical equipment, working alongside Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) on repairs and preventive maintenance inspections, coordinating new technology implementations, participating in project meetings and taking notes, preparation of documents and coordination vendor appointments with CE department, assisting with coordination of installation of newly acquired CE equipment and devices under the direction of the clinical engineering manager and BMETs, aiding clinical areas in assuring that clinical equipment meets established operation and performance standards, acting as a liaison between hospital clinical staff, contractors and other Upstate teams such as IMT, CE, Materials Management, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Enrolled in an undergraduate program as a Junior or Senior year student. Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, science or mathematics.
