SUNY Upstate Medical University Chaplain in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary:
This is a generalist staff chaplain position that provides clinically trained, broadly interfaith, ministry as well as faith specific spiritual care, to the entire hospital population. Duties may include Sunday worship. In addition, this chaplain serves as the Schwartz Center Compassionate Rounds Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Divinity/Theology or equivalency, endorsed and/or ordained and in good standing with one's faith tradition and a minimum of 2 years experience working in a clinical setting plus excellent written/oral and interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player required. The ideal candidate will have 4 units (1600 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education from the ACPE, and be Board Certified or eligible by one of the three major national pastoral care organizations (Association of Professional Chaplain, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, National Association of Jewish Chaplains). or must obtain within three years of appointment.
