SUNY Upstate Medical University Administrative Assistant II in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

An Administrative Assistant II will perform various secretarial and/ or administrative functions, frequently of a complex and confidential nature, coordinates resources, establish, and maintain office procedures, monitor budgets and expenditures. Supervise, assign and prioritize work of others, in addition to all duties of an Administrative 1 (Schedule new patient appointment referrals and/or schedule follow-up appointments /testing, answer phones, register and discharge patients. Assure correct insurance information is available, obtain insurance authorizations as needed for patient care / testing. Greet patients and visitors, and assure positive customer service. Collect co-pays, assist with mail distribution, faxes, and scanning.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Four years of Progressive secretarial/administrative experience or Associate's degree and two years of Progressive secretarial/administrative experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong literacy, numeracy, and computer proficiency required.

Must be competent with various computer software applications.

Ability to work with some independence on a directed project.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with EPIC EMR, Urology, and medical terminology.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday Days. No holidays/weekends
