Crouse Hospital Addiction Treatment-Admissions Coordinator in Syracuse, New York

The Addiction Treatment Admissions Coordinator provides financial counseling assistance and completes a variety of duties related to admission of patients within Chemical Dependency Treatment Services. The Admissions Counselor works in conjunction with the Admitting/ Patient Access team to establish and maintain relationships with all internal and external referral sources; obtains insurance details from patients; and verifies insurance coverage including initial length of stay. The role is also the professional liaison and Crouse's advocate with all third party payers with respect to covered services and limitations for all of Crouse Chemical Dependency Treatment Services. The Admissions Counselor follows established procedures for admission, insurance verification and billing in accordance with stated policies as well as assures compliance with stated admission criteria.

Position Requirements

Education:

Required: Bachelors in Health Services Administration or related field or Associates Degree in Health Services Administration or related field and 2-4 years of experience.

Experience:

Required: Experience with insurance verification/authorization, knowledge of third part insurance, medicaid and other government/ state programs and payors, and knowledge of hospital billing practices.

Hourly Rate Range

$21.25-$25.50/hour
