    What the day will look like

    The Platform Executive to support the Commercial Risk Services Platform team. In this role you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining existing insurance placement technology platforms for the business.

    Reporting to the Manager of Platform Enablement, you will be responsible the ongoing maintenance and development of Aon’s core strategic placement platform by focusing on the uplift of the platform to include new products, new platform features and fixes to deal with trending transactional issues. As part of this you will have both an internal and external focus as you understand the user needs and issues across both brokers and insurers and support the end-to-end development and delivery of system enhancements and fixes. You will be expected to engage in a way that drives platform change through influence rather than via hierarchy.

    Key responsibilities include:

  • Through the guidance of the UX lead and platform manager, engage with users and product owners to record user needs, problems and product requirements to enable the identification and analysis of system improvements.

  • Work with the Business Analyst and Platform Manager to agree the system enhancements that should be submitted to the advisory committee for development and complete all required business intake and requirement documentation to enable accurate consideration and prioritization of the enhancements and fixes.

  • Project manage the delivery of any agreed system enhancements, ensuring business requirements are provided on time, product owners and insurers are engaged upfront, user acceptance testing is handled in agreed timeframes and a detailed training and comms plan initiated.

  • Take part in enhancement discovery sessions and support the build out of business requirements as required.

  • Support the Business Analyst and test lead in User Acceptance Testing.

  • Support change management processes for any system enhancement including communication, training material development and Aon Avenue updates,

  • Support platform users in the event of transactional processing issues, review issues and identify appropriate triage pathway.

  • Develop documented processes for all platform related activity.

  • Play an active role in team capacity planning and ways of working improvement sessions to ensure the team is focused on the key business priorities and operating at maximum productivity.

  • Support the documentation of standard team operating procedures and processes.

  • Collaborate with technology, platform strategy and key business stakeholders to ensure the remit of the platform enablement team is understood and supported and there is a documented, prioritized and transparent pipeline of platforms work.

    The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • 3+ years of General Insurance experience, and a deep understanding of relevant processes and platforms

  • Project Management experience with proven analysis, planning and execution skills

  • Experience in communication and training development and execution.

  • Proven record in eliciting user problems and latent needs

  • Experience in platform development and business requirements capturing.

  • Sophisticated Office (Word, Excel) skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to ask relevant probing questions to uncover challenges.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to articulate, advocate and influence decisions.

  • Familiar with use of modern tools such as JIRA

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Good problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment - both leading and participating
