    Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Payroll Officer / Assistant Accountant is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end processes with Global Shared Services in both the Payroll and Accounts Payable functions; working also to support the Controllership team ensuring financial data integrity and adherence to compliance policies and procedures.

Your success will centre around integrity to achieve excellence, accuracy, timeliness and the critical need to maintain confidentiality. The role provides the opportunity to work with diverse cross-functional and cross boarder teams across the wider Collins Aerospace and RTX group, providing financial and payroll insight in support of business decisions.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating and delivering the end-to-end payroll functions.

  • Provide payroll insights; able to lead and support projects to enhance our payroll processes.

  • Support and coordinate local end-to end Accounts Payable functions on behalf of Global Shared Services.

  • Prepare month-end financials and complete account reconciliations.

  • Supports internal and external audit processes to ensure adherence to controls and compliance.

    Skills and experience to support your success in this role:

    Essential

  • Proficient in managing payroll and employee services with expertise in Australia payroll systems, statutory requirements and systems technology.

  • Diligent, accurate, data driven and able to work autonomously to meet deadlines.

  • Well-developed clear and concise communications skills (both verbal and written).

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and work with diverse teams.

  • Ability to demonstrate understand and explain company policies, standards, and processes.

  • Intermediate or proficient MS Excel skills.

    Desirable

  • Working understanding of SAP.

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or similar, CPA/CA desirable.

  • Experience working in a global matrixed organisation.

  • Excellent time management skills.

    Successful candidates must be able to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance at minimum NV1. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva as well as be eligible to be certified in compliance against ITAR technology access requirements. Requires Australian Citizenship status.
