The Bakery Production Leadis responsible for the coordination and organization of the staff in order to produce the different products varieties in accordance with the production schedule requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the employees and operators in the areas that incumbent is responsible for breaks and lunches.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities of the Lead operators in the following areas: Ingredient prep, Mixing, Make-up, oven and packing.
  • Communicates with Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Maintenance, Shipping & Receiving, to ensure own responsibilities are met.
  • Must provide coverage as required when Supervisor is out.
  • Must be able to work other shifts as required by supervisor
  • Lead would not have a specific shift instead will rotate as required by the company
  • Assists and cross trains workers in operating and setting up equipment in the mixing, make up stations and Oven/packing areas.
  • Assists Operators organizing and assigning the employees to their workstations.
  • Assures the staff adheres to the production schedule.
  • Assists Shift Supervisor with the preparation of the employee schedule, White, Organic Rye, Dark Rye, White Rye, and starter production schedule.
  • Schedules the preparation of the Secondary ingredients i.e. baking, toasting, or cooking the potatoes, nuts seeds, and onions.
  • Tracks and documents absenteeism.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Responsible for the documentation of starter production reports, down time, batch reporting, lot # tracking, daily shaped batch report, and process control sheets.
  • Responsible for making sure all data entry is entered efficiently, accurately, and on a timely manner for proper reporting in SAP
  • Works to maintain and improve the quality, legality, and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.
  • Coordinates work of employees in the Production department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 1 year as a Lead operator experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Excel, (SAP) company software as required
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
