Public education experience, and executive-level leadership experience preferred.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITYProvide leadership in developing, implementing, and promoting the district’s vision for technology and innovation, directing all aspects of technology implementation and support, and driving the ongoing development and continuous improvement of information management strategies, solutions, and security.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES1. Direct the day-to-day operations and work processes of the district’s Technology and Innovation division, including network and infrastructure operations, telecommunications, information systems, solutions and applications, IT security, enterprise support services, data infrastructure, instructional technology, project management and related areas. 2. Develop a compelling technology vision for the Technology and Innovation division, including the resources needed to create a sustainable program and lead the implementation of the district’s technology plan. 3. Ensure that divisional goals, objectives, and strategies are consistent with and support the strategic direction and goals of the district.4. Evaluate emerging technologies to determine their applicability to the education environment and keep executive-level leadership informed of opportunities that could arise.5. Coordinate the piloting, implementation, and evaluation of technology-based instructional programs and provide direction and assistance to technology staff, administrators and teachers in planning instruction that promotes information literacy and integrates meaningful and effective uses of technology into the daily work of staff, teachers, and students.6. Instruct district personnel in the use of software, digital resources, online learning resources and other internet resources as they pertain to business and educational standards of technology use. 7. Collaborate cross-divisionally to understand district technological needs, and to cohesively evaluate and implement strategies and technological solutions.8. Develop and implement a strong staffing strategy for the Technology and Innovation Department, to include recruiting, developing and motivating staff. 9. Ensure that the Deputy Superintendent of Operational Services is apprised of significant changes, events and actions in the division of Technology and Innovation, including projections, trends, and analysis of issues.10.
