Description

PeaceHealth is seeking a Dietitian I - Nutrition Services for a Part Time, 0.60 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $31.70 – $47.54. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of nutrition care, consulting with other healthcare professionals as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Competent use of the Nutrition Care Process including nutrition assessment, identification of nutritional diagnosis, implementation of appropriate nutrition intervention, and formulation of patient specific goals, monitoring, evaluation, and follow up of outcomes.

  • Using evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines, will provide nutrition education to patients and families in the outpatient and/or inpatient settings.

  • Provides consult services to other healthcare providers and participates in the interdisciplinary team.

  • Documents in the EMR in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations.

  • When appropriate, makes referrals to other services, agencies and community resources.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master's Degree Required: in a related field of study. Caregivers who earned their RD license before 1/1/2024 when a bachelor's degree was sufficient will be grandfathered.

Experience

  • Required: Successful completion of AND approved internship/training program

Credentials

  • Required within 90 Days: Registered Dietitian Required at hire or must pass Registration Exam and

  • May be required: Certified Dietitian - Washington Required for Outpatient Dietitians in WA. Inpatient Dietitians are not required to maintain state certification in WA and

  • May be required: Current Medicare provider status number

Skills

  • Demonstrated skill in teaching adults and pediatrics of varying competency levels. (Required)

  • Must be able to design, implement, and evaluate instructional materials. (Required)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Required)

  • Ability to interact with a variety of departments and work independently on numerous projects simultaneously. (Required)

  • Proficient in the use of computers including MS Office applications. (Required)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Frequent moving around work area.

  • Frequent grasping, reaching.

  • Frequent lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs.

  • Occasional squatting/ kneeling/ bending.

Environmental Conditions

  • Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting or in office environment.

Mental/Visual

  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
