Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Ag Retail division. We are looking for a Terminal Operations Supervisor to manage and provide direct supervision of Vessel and Rail terminal activities at our facility in Superior, WI. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively manage change and make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure housekeeping, safety and compliance are adhered to and take corrective action as needed.

  • Manage loading/unloading operations, bin the products properly, communicate with rail/vessel dispatching representatives, load out products meeting contract requirements.

  • Provide work direction, training and cross-training for all Team Member positions and assist with evaluating employee performance.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify, lead, and execute process improvement projects from conception through completion.

  • Supporting the facility in all efforts to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost performance for the facility.

  • Assisting and leading meetings with leadership for identifying activities, opportunities and possible Kaizen events and/or projects.

  • Linking Lean activities to the business objectives and developing a site transformation plan in collaboration with the site management team.

  • Developing and maintaining Work for areas in both the production and office.

  • Teaching and mentoring the use of Lean tools, including Kaizen, 5S, 8 Wastes, Kanban, etc. to all levels of the organization.

  • Fostering a culture of moving forward in a change environment and continuously assuring buy-in and ownership at all levels.

  • Assist in developing a site budget, as necessary, as well as capital improvement projects related to process improvements.

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of experience in Operations and/or Pipeline Production Operations

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Ability to get a TWIC card

Additional Qualifications

  • Highly Preferred: Previous Terminal Operations experience to include:

  • Maintenance and/or Production operations and management

  • Employee supervision

  • Environmental Health & Safety experience

  • Detail-oriented

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to effectively manage change

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to work flexible hours (including nights, weekends and holidays
