Hyundai America Technical Center Inc Engineering Design Engineer I in Superior Township, Michigan

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is looking for Entry Level Engineers for our Superior Township, MI facility who will: Design and develop Body and Trim components related to: Vehicle Structure (body-in-white/BIW), Closures (doors, hoods, tailgates), Interior Trim (Cockpit, hard trim, soft trim) or Exterior Trim (Lamps, Bumpers, Garnishes)- we are hiring for multiple positions so the job would be in one of the above-mentioned disciplines/teams We need passionate engineers who want to be responsible for developing our future vehicles The parts you develop will be on vehicles you see on the road Responsibilities include: Perform design-releasing duties for N.A based vehicle projects and manage Bill of Materials Use CATIA V5 and other engineering tools to create and modify 3d data and 2D drawings Estimate and create cost/mass targets for component parts Investigate quality, assembly, and durability issues and make engineering improvements Support & interface with other engineering and design functions for vehicle development Review part/system performance and regulatory testing Participate in benchmarking activities Be a liaison between North American affiliates and Korean headquarters Assess field claims, customer feedback and other sources and recommend engineering improvements Study and interpret regulations and performance requirements Support advanced development of Body & Trim systems and components for future vehicles Travel up to 20% of time domestically and or internationally: South Korea travel for early development and North American plant travel for pre-production build support Engineers should be able to demonstrate: Familiarity with MS Office to prepare reports/spreadsheets as necessary to support project work Basic CAD and 3D design experience, but CATIA V5 experience is not required Self-motivated drive to learn more, do more, achieve more What we offer: Zero-dollar employee premiums on Medical, Dental, and Vision for you and your family 100% employer-paid disability and life insurance Generous paid time off including vacation, sick and abundant holidays A global environment that fosters diversity Competitive salaries Retirement savings and planning benefits Flexible work hours, and hybrid work schedule options Access to health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts Required Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record Candidates for positions with Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
