Hyundai America Technical Center Inc Connected Car Development and Validation Engineer in Superior Township, Michigan

We are seeking a highly motivated Connected Car Development & Validation Engineer for our Superior Township, MI facility (near Ann Arbor), to be responsible for continued development of Blue Link/Kia Connect/Genesis Connected Car (Telematics) services for the North America vehicle platforms, in which you will be able to:

Assume a leadership role in the development and validation of End-to-End Connected Car (Telematics) services/features, which include all different layers (Components/devices, Network, and Servers/Apps). Develop tools to monitor connectivity activities/issues and work with all stakeholders to troubleshoot and provide solutions of the reported issues. Support different team members within HATCI to identify and resolve connectivity issues. Analyze issues using logging tools and follow-up with all stakeholders (component suppliers, network/server providers, etc.) to identify root causes and solutions. Create test plan/cases, conduct bench and field validation, track production and development progress, and conduct end-to-end validation of the Telematics functionalities & architectures based upon Test Development Plans (TDP's). Inclusive in this endeavor is the ability to create and modify existing TDP's related to the components & system, so as to improve the validation efficiency. Participate in and provide assistance in support of all quality gate activities prior to the launch of the project for a given vehicle platform. Assist with the evaluation of field/customer concerns after system launch & drive resolution to maintain or improve customer expectations. Build and maintain active relations with device suppliers and server providers to seek solutions for emerging issues in order to enhance product quality. Provide progress reports during entire product development process. Perform additional projects and tasks as assigned to support the overall mission, vision, goals of HATCI. Remain current with new technology and competitive products. Previous experience or knowledge of software development preferred Travel up to 15% of time domestically and internationally. Preferred Experience Bachelor Degree in related Technical Field ( Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical engineering, or related) 1-5+ years' experience with Connected Car features associated with vehicle development Experience working of cellular technology (e.g. LTE) & server protocols. Experience with development, validation, and logging/simulation tools. Experience on software development using varies s/w languages (C/C++, Java, Python, Matlabs/Simulink, and others) Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
