Meta Systems Integration Lead in Sunnyvale, California

Summary:

The Reality Labs team is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. We are a team of world-class experts developing and shipping products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We are currently seeking an innovative System Integration Engineer. This person should have a passion for working across technical disciplines to develop compelling products and platforms that involve developing new technologies and solving complex problems. This position requires someone who has expertise working with product teams; able to work collaboratively with non-technical and technical partners, to manage system maturation, requirements, and respective risks; and focused on execution while providing clear and effective communication to remove barriers across the team.This role requires excellent technical understanding of consumer electronics systems across the stack.Starting with a broad engineering background in electrical, mechanical, audio, optics, semiconductors, or related fields, the ideal candidate would have strong systems skills, demonstrated leadership skills, previous roles driving architecture convergence on complex consumer electronics products sensors, AI/ML integration into hardware, software, and able to work collaboratively with experts in different fields to make architectural tradeoffs.

Required Skills:

Systems Integration Lead Responsibilities:

  1. Lead product architecture for roadmap products, communicate trade-offs, program concerns and technical direction.

  2. Drive the technical scoping and development of new technologies to deliver new user experiences for future products on the roadmap.

  3. Conduct detailed analysis and trade-off studies for complex systems.

  4. Engage with technology project leads, and various component SMEs in creating the overall system architecture and platform as the starting point for product execution.

  5. Communicate technology and product strategy effectively to both internal and external stakeholders

  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on blank-slate and early-phase prototyping and product exploration, mapping it to strategic and product questions which need to be resolved

  7. Create hardware system metrics, KPIs, standards and tools

  8. Facilitate and work with teams to quickly identify, debug, and resolve technical project challenges

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience

  2. 5+ years of product design/prototyping experience, including full system ownership of consumer electronics.

  3. Experience in developing advanced embedded systems with multi-function/multi-disciplinary threads across hardware, software, and firmware

  4. Experience working across disciplines and with both technical and non-technical team members

  5. Experience working with CM/JDM partners in Asia

  1. Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing by influence

  2. Working knowledge across the following areas with experience in at least one: - power modeling, batteries, audio/acoustics, SOC characterization, wireless technology, health sensing, scripting, firmware, or manufacturing test.

  3. Experience leading product development of consumer electronics from concept through high volume mass production.

Public Compensation:

$204,000/year to $281,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
