Apple Module Engineering and Technical team is looking for a motivated, process oriented Technical Program Manager to lead module (adapter, PSU, etc.,) process launch at suppliers. You will be responsible for reviewing module specification and providing feedback to Apple PD, EE, Safety, Test and work with suppliers to establish capable processes to ensure module can consistently meet specifications.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in Operations Engineering or Manufacturing Process development

  • Direct experience in manufacturing process design, review and buy off

  • Experience in understanding drawings & TA’s

  • Excellent product / project management skills, working in a matrix org

  • Direct experience in managing a functional engineering team is a plus

  • Supplier management experience is a plus

  • Fluent written and oral English communication

  • Design or development experience along with operations experience preferred

  • Proven bottom line project management experience (Planning, Cost & Delivery)

  • Self starter with innovation, integrity and attention to details

  • Experience working with international OEM partners

  • Product design experience is a plus

  • Willingness to travel internationally 30-35%

Description

Lead multi-functional activities in the supply chain for overall operational readiness in all NPI phases leading into Mass Production. Review module drawing / specification and provide design for manufacturing feedback to engineering. Lead suppliers by providing technical direction to establish and validate (utilizing statistical tools) process capability to Apple standards in meeting innovative product designs as well as test and quality requirements. Collaborate with Suppliers and Engineering teams in developing manufacturing Blueprint including process flow, equipment/ fixture designs, implementation schedules and validation plans prior to any Engineering build. Lead a team of engineers (manufacturing, DFX, test, SQE, tooling, etc.,) to establish capable processes that can meet module specification. Partner with suppliers for process mapping & optimization, FMEA, Dfx, identify and develop fixtures, line balancing, test plan development etc. Establish Process & Quality programs and Manufacturing Process Control Plans for early detection of issues and to ensure highest level of Quality and Reliability is consistently delivered. Drive project technical and operational issues related to process, fixtures, equipment, etc., during NPI phase to enable delivery of a mature product and manufacturing process into Mass Production. Drive manufacturing, test and final assembly process related technical and operational issues to ensure closure. Act as Ops technical lead in communicating project readiness and identifying risks for all phases of the introduction cycle. Verify SOP compliance, Complete Line Qualification / Validation. Identify / Implement new technologies to enhance quality, capacity and efficiency. Utilize DOE’s, FMEA and other Industry standard tools to proactively identify and address risks and optimize process parameters. Engage with GSM teams on costing strategy, ramp plans/yields & automation strategy for CTQ’s, CTS & ROI. Support PQM for OK2Build and OK2Send process review and approval. Develop robust processes for FA on customer returns to Synthesize Voice of Customer into both process changes and product development cycles. Evaluate prospective suppliers based on their manufacturing / quality capability for new projects.
