Meta Display Engineering Manager in Sunnyvale, California

Summary:

The Reality Labs (RL) VR Display Engineering team focuses on moving the state-of-art display technologies forward for Meta products, which gives people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. The team is responsible for the technology development and maturation, component design, manufacturing process advancement, and test & integration of display module for all RL products.The Display Engineering team is looking for an experienced and self-motivated engineering manager to lead and build one of the best display engineering teams in the world. In this role you will be responsible for the investigation, development, qualification, and implementation of leading-edge display design, module process technology, and display driving algorithms for our growing VR hardware products. You will lead a close-knit group of display experts working on display component design, validation, and system integration, and manage necessary activities to implement the customized and novel component technologies into final products. Your work will change the performance and experience of VR hardware through a close collaboration with both internal and external partners.

Display Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, mentor, and grow a world class display optical engineering team.

  2. Manage the execution of display and display optical design, validation, product implementation and production support activities.

  3. Build relationships with and work closely with industry partners to identify and develop new component technologies for our growing hardware product lines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of display scientific or engineering work experience.

  2. 2+ years of engineering management experience.

  3. Track of record on development and implementation of innovative LCD, AMOLED or other display solutions for consumer electronics.

  4. Communication skills and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of display scientific or engineering work experience.

  2. Experience with at least one of the focus areas of display technology below: Experience with LCD and OLED display technologies and display module/panel/IC design and validation. Extensive knowledge on various high-speed display electrical interfaces standards, design, and validation. Experience with touch screen sensor/controller technologies, design, or validation.

  3. Experience working with display or touch supply base and building close relationship with the vendor ecosystem.

  4. Track record of building a top performance engineering organization in scale.

  5. MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Optical Engineering, Physics or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Public Compensation:

$204,000/year to $281,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
