STG International Speech Language Pathologist in Sumter, South Carolina

Speech Language Pathologist

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   

· Perform Speech Language Services defined in Scope of Practice and State Practice Act 

· Build a strong Speech Language Therapy program for assigned clients  

· Optimize the functionality and skills of patients 

· Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of residents after a written order received from Physician 

· Screen facility residents 

· Complete all necessary medical documentation  

· Attend all required meetings and in-services, including but not limited to family meetings, care plans, staffing and utilization review 

· In conjunction with the Director of Rehabilitation, develop programs appropriate to the needs of the facility residents through the continuum of care 

· Remain up-to-date and compliant with all infection control procedures and environmental protocol while following Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) Resident’s Rights Guidelines 

· Provide consultation and clinical supervision to SLP-CF 

· Responsible for appropriate scheduling of residents 

· Educate and train families and staff on in-services   

· Assist the facility in meeting standards necessary to maintain state and federal certification  

· Require to perform a variety of lifting and carrying relative to the job, some of which require a moderate to heavy category of physical demand

Required SkillsRequired Experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:   

· Prior Senior Living Community and/or geriatric experience

· Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) knowledge and fee scheduling

REQUIRED EDUCATION:  

· Minimum Master’s degree or “grandfathered” equivalent

· Maintain valid State License
