The Lab Testing Technician will organize and perform laboratory services in compliance with CLIA/COLA standards.

Locations : Colonial Healthcare, 325 Broad Street, Sumter, SC

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 12pm-8:30pm / No weekends or holidays!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive and prepare urine aliquots for testing

  • Prepare automated analyzer for testing

  • Identify urine aliquots by batch for computer download

  • Operate automated analyzer during testing

  • Perform operator maintenance functions on automated instruments

  • Prepare quality control, maintenance, reagent and other equipment records to document proper execution of procedures in each of these areas Review and document proper execution of testing procedures

  • Release properly reviewed results to the LIMS

  • Order reagents and supplies as needed

  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all CRL and client information

  • Be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical or Biological Science OR Associate degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science or Medical Laboratory Technology OR High School graduate and equivalent laboratory training/experience

  • Basic knowledge of medical laboratory processes

  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology

  • Demonstrated skills required for implementing all standard laboratory procedures

  • Demonstrated skills required for performing each test, performing preventative maintenance, and calibration procedures related to each test performed

  • Demonstrated skills required to implement quality control policies and procedures and an awareness of the factors influencing test results

  • Demonstrated skills required to assess and verify the validity of patient test results through the evaluation of quality control sample values prior to reporting patient test results (CLIA 1988)
