Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)– Paragon Infusion Centers

Location : Sugarland, TX

Clinic Hours: 8am – 5pm

Onsite position, Monday – Friday

The Family Nurse Practitioner – Paragon Infusion Centers is responsible providing for the health care needs of patients in collaboration with a physician, through advanced assessment and identification of health states including abnormal conditions, diagnosing, treatment therapies and/or evaluation. Performs care in a specialty area such as cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, etc

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes evidence-based clinical practice standards to provide direct clinical services for patients within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions.

  • Acts independently to perform physical assessments, diagnostic functions, specialized risk assessments, and make critical decisions regarding a wide variety of health situations, including high risk and crisis situations.

  • Acquires patient health histories and evaluates patient, performing physical examinations. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs. .

  • Discusses case with physician.

  • Formulates and documents care plan.

  • Prescribes medication, therapies an/or other forms of treatment.

  • Evaluates the patient’s response to therapy.

  • Collaborate with clinical team to promote patient flow as needed, such as IV insertion, medications mixing, injections and pumps management.

  • Administer medications, including via orally, injectables, subcutaneous pumps, IV pumps.

  • Participate in inventory processes, such as receiving and documenting medication/supply shipments.

  • Work interdepartmentally to progress new referrals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an MS in Nursing and minimum of 2 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Current unrestricted RN license and NP license in applicable state required.

  • Certification in a specialty or minimum of 1 year experience in a specialty area, such as cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certification highly preferred.

  • BLS certification highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year infusion experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year IV insertion experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a specialty area, such as family medicine, internal medicine, rheumatology, or endocrinology preferred.

  • Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position and Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver.
