Adjunct Faculty in the Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences division report to the Assistant Dean and work with full-time faculty in designing lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to ensure that students successfully meet the course outcomes.

Biology 120- Principles of Biology

Evenings starting August 19th, 2024

The successful candidates are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, performing student learning assessment, and monitoring teaching effectiveness.

These positions require professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ideal candidates must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask as well as the ability to engage students and promptly respond to students\' needs.

Instructors are responsible for student evaluations, and timely and accurate submission for required instructional paperwork. Ability to effectively use instructional technology and Learning Management System to enhance teaching and learning is desired.

Responsibilities:

Meeting the established course description as well as program, course, and college learning outcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student\'s needs as diverse learners.

Following and instructing students to follow safety rules in the laboratory.

Incorporating learning-centered principles and concepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences.

Meeting all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.

Integrating instructional technology (if applicable) appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.

Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.

Modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Master\'s degree in biology or related field with 18 graduate hours of specialization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching biology at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.

Experience and practical knowledge in biology laboratory is required.

Experience teaching traditionally under-served populations.

Experience incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning process.

Experience in teaching in multiple instructional modalities.

Experience in utilizing Learning Management Systems.
