Aerotek Warehouse Worker in Suffolk, Virginia

The Order Processor will pick, process and ship orders. Other duties may be assigned. This person must have a strong attention to detail and be able to us MS Applications effectively and efficiently and can learn new software. The lifting can be up to 50lbs. The position is in the Warehouse (non-climate controlled).

Description:

• Properly prepares customer orders for shipment.

• Ensure all customer orders are prepared based on assignment provided in WMS system.

• Ensures accuracy of product selected.

• Ensures product is properly palletized for quality shipping.

• Attaches correct documentation to prepared shipment.

• Properly stages shipments for quality review.

• Properly prepares small package shipments using Starship. Properly labels packages with FedEx labels.

• Provide accurate documentation to the warehouse clerk for shipment confirmation.

• Ensures all productivity, quality, and safety metrics are met.

• Proficient in use of WMS tools for use in order selection. Properly sign out and maintain WMS equipment.

• Certified in use and maintenance of warehouse equipment needed to select orders and/or ship orders.

• Properly sign out and maintain equipment documentation and records.

• Ensure proper and accurate product picking practices are used to support recall and FIFO requirements.

• Maintain warehouse documentation requirements and foster a paper-free environment.

• Maintain clean, sanitary working environment to ensure proper storage and delivery of products as defined in our quality standards.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual, including safety, security, and quality.

• Provide high quality customer service to all in-house personnel, customers, and vendors.

• Promptly respond to all internal and external inquiries.

• Ensure the warehouse is secure prior to departure at the end of day.

• Perform other duties including special projects as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor and/or Shipping Specialist.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Knowledge / Skills/ Abilities:

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Must be able to problem solve as issues arise.

• Must have the ability to function as a team player and role model.

• Must have the ability to initiate and offer suggestions aimed at improving productivity, quality, and safety.

• Stand-up forklift preferred but not required.

• Experience with WMS preferred.

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

• Must have strong math skills.

• Must be computer literate and have ability to easily learn a variety of software programs (ERP, Starship, FedEx, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

• Physical effort required to move merchandise in excess of 50 lbs.

• Must be able to stand in stationary position for extended periods of time.

• Must be able to climb ladders to pull products and supplies.
