POSITION:Practical Nurse Instructors (PT and FT)SITE/BUILDING: Sayville Adult Education CenterVarious Other Sites in Suffolk County QUALIFICATIONS (REVISED):•Holds current NYS Registered Nurse License•Bachelor degree in Nursing•Four (4) years of Nursing experience•Teaching experience a plus but not required•After appointment, will complete Adult Education Job Skills Training Instructor Certification and Visiting Lecturer License (if not already held)•Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environmentRESPONSIBILITIES: •Continuously engage with myriad professional and self-improvement practices•Engage adult learners and conduct classroom and clinical instruction•Design and carry-out lesson plans that recognize students’ abilities and learning styles•Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as, excellent customer service skills•Provide ongoing student advertisement and academic counseling•Prepares test items for examination, supervises and evaluates test results•Maintains student records•Participates in the development and evaluation of program curriculum•Participates in the formation and implementation of the program philosophy and objectives•Evaluates student progress•Evaluates student patient care according to establishes criteria•While in clinical setting, interprets hospital (facility) policy to students•Cooperates with head nurse or team leader to carry out medical orders of patients assigned to students and the development of nursing care plans•Cooperates with head nurse or designated personnel in selecting and planning students’ assignments•Orients students to clinical areas•Supervises and evaluates nursing care provided by the students•Conducts planned clinical conferences and classesSTART DATE:To be determinedSALARY:$52.11 per hour/Part Time$52.11 per hour/Full TimeStudies show that women and members of some groups are more likely to underestimate their qualifications for a position.
