We are hiring people for our Brentwood and Coram locations who possess a wide range of skills and are eager to promote YAI's mission of supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, love, work, and learn in their communities.

About the Position:

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work closely with people of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).  Depending on the supports needed, DSPs may work in a person’s home, in their family’s home, in a YAI residence, at a day habilitation center, or out in the community.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Work or life experience in the I/DD field is a plus but not mandatory

  • Ability to complete three to five weekdays of paid New York State-mandated OPWDD training during normal business hours

  • Tuberculosis (TB) testing is mandatory for most positions (and is provided free of charge by our partnership with CityMD )

Schedule:

Full Time weekday positions are available with schedules ranging between 7:30am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:00pm (some flexibility required).

    Compensation:

    $16.50/hour
