Planate Management Group LLC Fire Protection Inspector in Subic, Philippines

The Fire Protection Inspector is a part-time position that will support the Global Technical Support Center (GTSC) in providing design plans and supervising all the activities which consist of all aspects of fire protection engineering works.

Our pay range for this position based on the market data is Php250 to Php300 per hour (the range varies depending on experience and qualifications).

Key responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of Managers (Design and Project) on tasks related to Fire Protection Engineering, including but not limited to fire protection requirements, fire protection equipment, fire hazards, firefighting, and fire detection and alarm system (FDAS)

  • Recommend changes to SFPE procedures and drawings/design documents. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using well-defined engineering procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems and engineering studies

  • Apply sound engineering principles to provide technically correct, timely, and cost-effective recommendations Perform standard fire protection design tasks such as sprinkler design and criteria specification, preliminary hydraulic calculations, fire pump selection, and fire detection and alarm system layout

  • Review A/E drawings for conformance with model and local codes, as well as NFPA standards

  • Research models and local codes, as well as nationally recognized standards to assist in the development of alternate methods of code compliance

  • Develop reports, letters, and memos (as necessary) with the assistance of other engineers

  • Perform hazardous materials assessments in different facilities per requirements

  • Continually expand and improve technical and business skills set under own initiative with instruction, guidance, and direction from others

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualification to be successful in the role:

  • Degree in any related course

  • Licensed Fire Protection Engineer / Certified Fire Protection Inspector is preferred

  • Minimum five (5) years of related engineering experience (combination of design, field/site, inspection and testing, product review and approval)

  • Ability to deliver complete design package which includes design drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, schedule of works, and other related documents

  • Working knowledge of local and international regulatory requirements and industry standards specifically related to Fire Protection, Fire Safety, and Fire Detection and Alarm Systems

  • Knowledgeable of applicable local and international codes and standards related to Fire Protection, Fire Safety and Fire Detection, and Alarm Systems such as UFC, IBC, NFPA, and BS Standards

  • Proficiency in communicating (orally and in writing) with exactness, clarity, and brevity

  • Computer literate with documentation and reports (i.e. MS Office or equivalent and CAD familiarity)

  • Can work and communicate virtually through TEAMS, SKYPE, WEBEX, or equivalent virtual meetings

  • Ability to provide quick response to fire protection technical queries on short notice

  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently to establish deadlines under the direction of a Project/Design Manager or client directly

  • Strong work ethic with a desire to excel in all assignments and continually exceed expectations

  • Must be willing to be temporarily deployed locally and internationally to address matters related to Fire Protection works

  • Willing to travel to client sites.
