SAIC Network Engineer in STUTTGART-VAIHINGEN, Germany

Description

SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer based in Stuttgart, Germany!

The Network Engineer serves as Tier Three Network Engineer in classified and unclassified networks and systems. The Network Engineer must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software. Extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols and TCP/IP, as well as server and network infrastructure is required. This position monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance. This position provides guidance and direction for junior network support technicians.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Engineering enterprise data, voice, In-Line Encryption Device, and video networks

  • Establishing and operating network test facilities

  • Maintaining a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks

  • Working with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management

  • Providing high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, includingLAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges and routers and ASA and encryption devices (ViaSat devices)

  • Experience supporting customers' needs in large, medium, and small-scale operational environments and use all available resources.

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and customers.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills in making the appropriate technical decisions.

  • Must be motivated, adaptable, flexible, and able to produce quality results in an evolving, fast-paced environment.

  • Good understanding of system networking over diverse topologies and environments to understand the limitations and advantages of different network/system architectures. Participates in engineering projects/efforts as tasked by management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, a Mathematics-intensive discipline, or a similar field and 5+ years of experience OR Masters degree and 3+ years of experience. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Active DoD Top Secret clearance is required, must be SCI eligible.

All candidates must have obtained DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II as well as one or more of the following certifications:

• CCNP Collaboration

• CCNP Data Center

• CCNP Enterprise

• CCNP Security

• CCNP Service Provider

• CCIoT

• Aruba Certified Mobility Professional

• Juniper Networks Certified Specialist
