Responsibilities

  • Support senior team members in developing, maintaining, and improving secure systems

  • Mentor Cyber Security Specialist I's on tasks for continuous development

  • Apply system Operating System patches, Service Packs, Hotfixes, and software/ firmware updates

  • Establish and support automated system software update methodologies and technologies

  • Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) settings

  • Perform system vulnerability scans including Nessus / ACAS, and SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC)

  • Help create Cyber Security documentation for the lifecycle of Information Technology / Operational Technology Systems

  • Contribute to research and analysis and translate security policy and requirements to define best methods and practices

  • Provide technical guidance on implementation of security mechanisms and controls

  • Complete and Verify device configuration of Operating Systems, Applications, and Network devices to comply with DISA STIG (and other) guidance

  • Spend time each week staying current on industry trends and available CS doctrine as workload allows

  • Identify industry accepted technical security standards and the policies that drive compliance requirements

Requirements:

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; DoD Secret clearance is required, Top Secret clearance is preferred

  • Requires up to 75% travel

  • Education:

  • 3-5 Years of Experience with a Master's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity

  • 5-7 Years of Experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity

  • 8-10 Years of Experience with an Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity

  • 10-12 Years of Experience with a High School Diploma / GED

  • Certifications:

  • Must have one of the following:

  • CCNA-Security

  • GICSP

  • GSEC

  • Security+ CE

  • SSCP

  • Prefer one of the following:

  • CCNA

  • MCSA (Server 2016)

  • Experience with the following tools:

  • Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, ETC)

  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • MS Visio

  • DISA SCAP Compliance Checker

  • DISA STIG Viewer

  • Tenable Nessus

  • Wireshark

  • HIPS, Antivirus, Anti-Malware

Abilities:

  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time

  • Sitting for extended periods of time

  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction

  • Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard

  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

  • Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand

  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing

  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense

  • Identify and understand the speech of another person
