Description

Under the direction of the General Manger, the Production Manager will be responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating activities related to the manufacturing of company products. The Production Manager will deploy effective manufacturing strategies and processes that align with employee and safety policies, as well as aligning with financial, efficiency, and productivity targets. The Production Manager will provide leadership and will confer with management personnel to establish and implement company policies and goals, production, and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, determination of required resources, and oversee the selection and maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates production processes and activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.

  • Responsible for planning & scheduling, development & performance of manufacturing personnel.

  • Establishes production plan as well as quality control standards, develops budget/cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.

  • Monitors the production processes, adjusts or revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems, and ensures goods and services are produced efficiently and with the correct quantities, quality, and cost.

  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.

  • Develop and implement quality control program and operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.

  • Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts including cost reduction efforts through Lean Practices.

  • Transform safety culture on a path to zero injuries through development, implementation, and management of safety best practices.

  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Other jobs or projects as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent Production Manager experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of management experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Proven knowledge of metal/mechanical manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Proven results through application of Lean and/or Six Sigma Methods.

  • Proficient in Manufacturing Operating/ERP Systems.

  • Experience effectively reporting and tracking progress on key metrics.

  • Experience with capital projects and capital/budget expenditure.

  • Proven ability to identify and initiate process improvements.
