Description

Under the direction of the Platforms Lead this position builds wooden platforms used for strength training. This position differs from Level II in that the incumbent may build or finish, but not necessarily do both. They may also not be cross trained in the Crates Department. They may be in the process of learning these things, but are not yet able to do so regularly and independently.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

General Requirements of All Levels:

  • Regular and reliable attendance

  • Keep area clean and organized

  • Follow safety procedures and instructions

  • Maintain productivity throughout shift

  • Work quickly and accurately with minimal mistakes

  • Have all necessary tools required at your work station and in proper working condition

  • Other jobs or projects as assigned

  • Meet the daily production schedule as provided by supervision

Building Responsibilities

  • Cut wood boards using table saw and panel saw

  • Arrange and nail/staple boards to complete platform

Finishing Responsibilities

  • Machine sand and clean platform before applying decals and coating

  • Apply coating materials as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds using a team lift or fork lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The building tends to be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The lighting is good. The air is clean in most areas. Safety equipment (except for safety shoes) is provided by the company, however when replacement is needed due to loss or theft, the employee may be required to pay for the replacement.
